Faire in the Field is TAB Entertainment’s first event! It’s a one day, pop-up renaissance faire, taking place in Uptown, Chicago. The Faire will feature one main-stage, several acts, unique vendors, and kids activities.
-
Accessibility is a high priority for us, and we’re doing our best to provide for those who may need accessible options. We will have reserved, off the ground seating for those who need it, and an accessible porta john.
Unfortunately, we are limited by the infrastructure of the park. The event space is entirely grass and dirt, and there is no true accessible entry.
-
Sorry, we love them, but we can’t welcome your pets! Service animals are of course allowed on-site.
-
Attendees are welcome to bring snacks, a picnic lunch, etc. Prepared foods only - no grills or other cooking allowed on-site. If you’re coming from the train, we recommend stopping by any of the restaurants on Wilson and Broadway to secure your provisions before walking over!
-
We’ll have some water for sale, but you can bring you own drinks too! No alcohol, please - it’s outside of our permit and we’ll get an enormous fine.
-
Costumes are NOT required to participate in the Faire! We welcome costumed and non-costumed attendees alike. We can’t wait to see you either way.
Weapons that are clearly part of a costume are welcome, but any that could be mistaken for a functional weapon must be peace tied before entry. You can peace tie your weapon before arriving, or we can do so for you at the gate. Anyone who removes their peace tie and/or draws their weapon will be asked to leave, no exceptions.
No real weapons of any kind are allowed at the event.

Everyone! Really! We made this a free event in order to reach as many people as possible. We can’t wait to welcome you - whether you’re a ren faire regular or someone who has never even heard of a renaissance faire. In addition to all-ages performers on our main stage, we have a kids’ area and dedicated kids’ performers, so families are very welcome.
Whoever you are, this event is for you! We’re excited for you to join us.
-
The Faire is 100% free to enter and it’s 100% free to watch all performances.
It is standard practice at renaissance faires for performers to “pass the hat” for cash or virtual tips after they finish. Tipping is entirely optional - it’s a way to show appreciation for the performance, but it’s not a requirement. You are welcome to enjoy the shows whether you tip or not.
Vendors are independent businesses and will be selling their goods at whatever price point they choose to set.
-
The audience area is hard-packed dirt. We will have a small number of benches reserved for those who need elevated seating for mobility reasons. Attendees are welcome to bring blankets, chairs, etc. Please be mindful of your fellow audience members when picking a spot to set up!
-
All of our main-stage performers will have sound amplification!

The Faire has no reserved parking space for attendees. There is ample free and metered street parking in the neighborhood and along the lakefront, and a handful of paid garages nearby. The closest hourly parking garage is at Weiss Memorial Hospital, just two blocks from the Faire entrance. There is a small on-site parking lot, but it is available to all park users and we can’t guarantee availability.
